Terms of Service
ShoppedOut.ca · Last updated: October 18, 2026
1. Acceptance of These Terms
By accessing or using ShoppedOut.ca (the “Service”), you agree to these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
2. What ShoppedOut Is
ShoppedOut is a free Canadian tool that helps shoppers plan meals around current grocery flyer deals and compare prices across nearby stores using unit pricing (per gram, millilitre, or item).
We collect sale prices from publicly distributed weekly flyers. Our team enters prices, and registered users may upload flyers for review and possible inclusion. Prices are not a live feed from store systems and are provided only as a guide.
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. If you are under the age of majority in your province or territory, you may use the Service only with the consent of a parent or legal guardian. By using the Service you confirm that you meet these requirements.
4. Accounts
- You can use most features without an account.
- Creating an account lets you save shopping lists, set preferences, and (if enabled) upload flyers or report prices.
- You are responsible for keeping your login details secure and for all activity under your account.
- Provide accurate information. We may suspend or delete accounts that contain false information or violate these Terms.
5. User Content and Flyer Uploads
If you upload flyers, report prices, or submit other content:
- You confirm you have the right to share it and that it does not infringe anyone else’s rights.
- You grant ShoppedOut a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to use, review, process (including with AI tools for extraction), and display the factual price information for the purpose of operating the Service.
- We do not claim ownership of the original flyer images or documents.
- We may refuse, edit, or remove any upload at our discretion (for example, incomplete, unclear, duplicate, or potentially inaccurate submissions).
- Do not upload copyrighted material you do not have permission to share, personal information of others, or anything illegal or harmful.
6. Price Accuracy and Disclaimers
- All prices, savings estimates, and meal costs are guides only.
- Flyer prices can differ by store, region, franchise, stock levels, or local pricing.
- Package sizes, brands, and exact products may vary.
- Always check your local store’s current flyer and the shelf price (and scan price) before you buy.
- ShoppedOut is not responsible for any difference between the information shown on the site and the actual price or availability in store.
- The Service is not financial, nutritional, or professional advice.
7. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for any illegal purpose
- Attempt to scrape, harvest, or systematically download large amounts of data
- Interfere with or disrupt the Service
- Upload malware, spam, or harmful content
- Misrepresent prices or upload deliberately false information
- Impersonate others or create multiple accounts to abuse features
We may suspend or terminate access for violations.
8. Intellectual Property
The ShoppedOut name, logo, website design, original text, software, and compilation of data are owned by us or our licensors. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from the Service except as needed for personal, non-commercial use of the tool.
Recipes shown on the site generally link to their original sources. We do not claim ownership of third-party recipes.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable Canadian law:
- The Service is provided “as is” and “as available.”
- We make no warranties that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that prices will be complete or accurate.
- ShoppedOut and its operators will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, data, or savings arising from your use of the Service.
- Our total liability for any claim related to the Service is limited to CAD $50.
Some provinces do not allow certain limitations; in those cases the limitation applies only to the extent permitted by law.
10. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless ShoppedOut and its operators from any claims, damages, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the Service, your uploaded content, or your violation of these Terms.
11. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access (and delete your account and associated data) at any time if you breach these Terms or if we discontinue the Service. You may stop using the Service and request account deletion at any time by emailing us.
12. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The “Last updated” date will change when we do. Continued use of the Service after changes means you accept the revised Terms. Material changes will be noted on the site or by email if you have an account.
13. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Saskatchewan and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of Saskatchewan, unless applicable consumer-protection law requires otherwise.
